The Center for Memory and Reparations
Joseph Kaifala founded the Center for Memory and Reparations to facilitate remembrance and collective narratives around the Sierra Leonean civil war. Our work entails the mapping and protection of mass graves, memorialisations & remembrance, teaching civil war history, and partnering with victims in their call for reparations. The Center for Memory and Reparations also led the creation of the Civil War Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Civilian in Lungi, Sierra Leone.
